When certain customers get a quote then they tend to not tell the truth. They do not want to pay a higher rate and they think that insurance companies will not know. The important part is to be honest with your agent. because even if you do not tell the truth when they run the report they will see everything on your driving record. They will try to help you as best as they can but its important for you to tell the truth.

They are aware of certain discounts- Agents know certain discounts that are available for customers. When they ask you if you are a homeowner or not its not to get in your business. They ask you this to see if they can give you a discount. They also have a discount if you have a Sam's club membership. There are many other discounts that are available just be sure to ask your agent.

Rates Change- for different reasons it could be because of your driving record or the improvement of it. According to the insurance company you are a higher risk to the company.

Going paperless- Usually when you go paperless then companies will give you a discount. Most companies do not like to go through the hassle by sending out a bill so they will give you an incentive if you go paperless. Sometimes when you get quoted agents will ask you if you want to go paperless or not, because you may get a lower rate.
